Renovation Kingdom

When word reached the Fungus Kingdom that the Renovation Kingdom had been the most recent victim of Trowser’s fierce attacks, the Fellowship of the Power Star set out immediately. Led by Princess Plum, the group also featured Marion the plumber and the Mushroom Rangers – Red Mushroom Man, Pink Mushroom Girl, Green Mushroom Man, Blue Mushroom Man and, last but not least, Yellow Mushroom Man.

It was a two-day trek to the Renovation Kingdom, where good kitchen design was held in the greatest of esteem, above all else. The kingdom had been created when house renovators near Melbourne had decided that they needed to escape the pressures of the ‘normal’ world. On the other side, they had more freedom to design kitchens, bathrooms and laundries however they saw fit. No longer would they be bound by the restrictions placed upon businesses for kitchen renovations near Melbourne. No two bathrooms or kitchens were the same in the Renovation Kingdom. Some proved better than others, but each was unique, and that was the wonderful thing about the land of renovation.

As the fellowship approached the border of the Renovation Kingdom, they saw only smoke on the horizon. Trowser left a trail of destruction and doom wherever he went, largely thanks to the lava that fell from his floating island. Staring at the horror, Princess Plum could only wonder whether the giant, flaming turtle meant to cause such harm. Although it seemed likely, she struggled to wrap her head around a creature being so blatantly evil. Surely this Trowser was merely misunderstood. Unloved, unwanted. There had to be a way to stop this without resorting to violence, although the princess wouldn’t hesitate if it came to that. She had not just her own kingdom to protect, but many others that relied on power stars to function, too.

They decided to make camp there for the night. While the Mushroom Rangers played card games together and Marion started on dinner, Princess Plum found herself staring into their fire. She’d visited the Renovation Kingdom many years ago, as a small child. It had been beautiful, made with brilliant designs. She only hoped that some of that beauty remained in the wake of Trowser’s destruction.
