Independent House Buying

Buying a house is so tricky. We’ve always used various real estate agents who have managed to lift a lot of the load for us. This time, we don’t have that luxury. We’re buying privately this time. I know you’re all probably ready to leap through this computer and slap me silly for even being prepared to buy privately, but I’m sure we can handle this. I think the fact that this home is literally our dream house, we didn’t want to risk losing it. It’s hard to describe the feeling of finding your dream home. It’s almost like love at first sight. You instantly know it’s right for you and you start picturing yourself in there. There’s nothing we’d change about this dream home, it’s perfect as it is. It’s the right combination of cottage countryside with a twist of modern. On top of its beautiful aesthetic, it’s still close to a local school for our children and is close enough to the city without being stuck in hustle and bustle.

I still need to book a conveyancing lawyer. Carlton is where we currently live and I have noticed that there was signage for a conveyancer. I’m considering getting them to have a read over all our paperwork and ensure that everything gets signed over appropriately. I have heard some absolute horror stories where buyers haven’t had proper rights to the home they purchased all because certain contracts have not been filled out correctly.

We’ll also need to get in touch with conveyancing solicitors anyway because we plan to sell our Carlton home. We’ve love our Carlton home, but it’s no longer right for us. As the kids are getting older we need something that has more room for them to grow up and roam free. The Carlton home is quite restricting, and while it’s lovely inside, it does lack a yard. Plus, it isn’t exactly convenient for school drop offs.

We would love to hear any advice from anyone else who has undergone a private property purchase as we want to make sure we take the right steps!
