People keep complaining about the weird smell coming from the air con in the building, so it’s probably a good thing that we’re getting a repair guy to check it out. For now, we’ve said that open flames are pretty much out.
Anyway, I’ve thought that our cooling has kind of been on the fritz for the last few days. In fact, we even had to get in a company that specialises in air conditioner repairs. Bentleigh hasn’t been especially cool as of late compared to other suburbs.
The lady who does cooling services was very nice (at least, that’s what I think everyone said. Her name might have been Adelaide, and she just sort of does heating). Sometimes when I arrive, there’s this weird sort of hot-cold feeling, like the hot or cool air just comes out in bursts. I had to go down to the basement yesterday to find some cleaning stuff and replenish my tool box. It’s usually really warm down there- like, ‘breathing fire’ levels of warmth. When I went down there yesterday, I had to get out of there really quickly because it felt like a sauna. I’m thinking that there’s some kind of leak, probably lots of leaks. I need to tell everyone about this.
There might be a coolant leak. The hot air that’s supposed to be going to the rest of the building is leaking out and heating the basement. Hey, that’s probably really good for the mold and damp, but we need that heat upstairs. It’s not like we can just tell everyone to wrap up warm, put on a scarf and get over it. It’s a nursing home; the people upstairs really need to stay comfortable. I’ve looked for the source of the leak myself, but I just don’t have the know-how. That, and it was like, really dark down there and I don’t know what I’m looking for. I’m just going to let the experts handle this, that company that are well known for high quality air con repairs in Malvern. Meanwhile, I should probably let the building know that all the cooling is under the floor at the moment.
